Keith Lockhart and Boston Pops Launch "Oscar And Tony" Online Broadcast, Free of Charge, at BostonPops.TV

(PRWEB) October 23, 2007 -- Today, Tuesday, October 23, the Boston Pops Orchestra (www.bso.org) launches "Oscar and Tony," its first internet television program, conducted by Keith Lockhart and featuring award-winning music of Hollywood and Broadway. This first of its kind Boston Pops internet television program will be offered free of charge and is available at www.bostonpops.tv.

The "Oscar and Tony" online broadcast features Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart leading "America?s Orchestra" in such familiar favorites as ?All That Jazz? from Chicago and "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic, as well as memorable melodies from the classic Broadway musicals The Phantom of the Opera and 42nd Street. Other highlights include favorite movie themes from The Sound of Music, Lawrence of Arabia, and Out of Africa. This special Boston Pops online broadcast also offers an array of video features including behind the scenes footage of the recording session, an interview and conducting lesson with Keith Lockhart, and interviews with Boston Pops musicians and Boston Pops musical arranger Pat Hollenbeck.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra (www.bso.org), the parent company of the Boston Pops, is the first orchestra to launch an internet broadcast, enabling the orchestra to begin to present special programs and increase its outreach to a global audience through the World Wide Web. www.bso.org (sister site of bostonpops.org and bostonpops.tv) is the largest and most-visited orchestral website in the country, and it now receives more than 6.5 million visitors annually and has generated more than $35 million in revenue since its launch in 1996.
